May 1 Loved it!
Great park! had an awesome time!
September 29 Good location...and convenient by NWlambear
Good get-away spot for a few days or so if you live nearby. Or....good also if you are just passing through this part of NW Washington. Husband and I prefer the off season....less people...quiet. We were just there for a few lovely days and most of the sites were empty. Fall is here....many leaves falling....like snow! Beautiful weather...crisp, cool, refreshing. Good for walking...fire in fire pit if you like.
May 20 Best for some, OK for others
This is a popular park, but not overwhelmed. A natural area right on the shoreline, still undergoing some restoration, but not too far removed from small-town style civilization. At summer low tides, gravel areas are great for clamming (check conditions), sandy areas for castle-building and picnics at shore watching heron catch small fish. good road biking, 2nd growth woodland and other shoreline accesses in area. good interpretive programs and volunteer beach naturalists (check schedules)
July 29 Great location
The Birch Bay State park is a nice park secluded yet not too far from civilization. The beach and its breathtaking sunsets are minutes away by foot. There is also a grocery store and a coin operated laundry just up the road (Beechwood grocery). I highly recommend this place for those looking to getaway for the weekend.
