CHADRON STATE PARK
The majestic beauty of the Pine Ridge forms the backdrop for this great, get away from it all state park, 9 miles south of Chadron on U.S. 385. At an elevation of nearly 5,000 feet, the 972 acre park lies in the heart of the Nebraska National Forest and is dominated by ponderosa pines.
There are 22 two bedroom, housekeeping cabins available from mid April to mid November, plus a group camp/conference facility. Chadron boasts a top-notch modern campground with 70 pads all with 30 amp electrical hookups. Excellent hike-bike trails lace the park and adjoining Forest Service lands.
The park offers a swimming pool, horseback trail rides, tennis and sand volleyball courts, craft center, snack bar, souvenirs, mountain bike rentals, paddle boats on the picturesque lagoon, fishing, hiking, evening programs, picnic tables, shelters (which can be reserved), water, dump station, showers and modern restrooms.

Chadron State Park also has lodging accommodations to fit your needs. Cabins are furnished with blankets, towels, stoves, refrigerators, silverware and cooking utensils. Cabin lodging reservations are accepted up to one year in advance and are taken online, telephone, mail or in person at the park during regular park office hours.
Located in the beautiful Pine Ridge of NW Nebraska. Campers will enjoy their stay at Chadron at the modern campground, complete with electrical hookups, showers, laundry, picnic tables, grills, a playground for the kids and a dump station.
All campers must register. Reservations are accepted. Reservations are taken for 50% of the modern camping. Reservations are taken up to 1 year in advance of arrival day.

2. The park's pool is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
3. Lifeguards are on duty during the operating hours of the pool.
4. Swimming lessons and water aerobics classes are available at this location.
5. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult in the swimming area.
The park offers a variety of boating options for visitors. The 100-acre lagoon is open to non-motorized boats, allowing guests to enjoy canoeing and kayaking in its calm waters. There are also paddleboats available for rent at the trading post within the park during summer months.
You can enjoy fishing in several ponds, home to species like largemouth bass and bluegill. Trout is stocked seasonally too.
