September 7 If people respect it, truly a treasure
Hospitable clean water, pleasant trails along the perimeter of the pond with generally harmless wildlife and wild edibles like evening primrose, wild grapes, sassafras, and spice bush. Harvest sustainably, please. Generally, respectful visitors from both the local and surrounding cities. However, as with any scenic area, there are always a few discretionarily challenged people who get inebriated and/or smash glass where people and their pets walk barefoot. PLEASE do your part to maintain the pristine qualities of this park by promptly reporting such reckless activity to the Environmental Conservation Police at 860-424-3333. If you are a frequent visitor, I suggest programming it into your cell phone. Thank you
