Orient Beach State Park has 45,000 feet of frontage on Gardiner's Bay and a rare maritime forest with red cedar, black-jack oak trees and prickly-pear cactus. A beautiful wood deck lets you overlook Gardiner's Bay. Visitors can swim in the bay, fish, picnic, play ball, go hiking or biking, or walk a nature trail. Pavilions available for private parties with catering available by concessionaire.

The park offers a variety of boating options for visitors. There is a boat launch site available, allowing individuals to bring their own watercrafts such as kayaks or canoes. Additionally, the waters around are popular with sailors and motorboat enthusiasts alike due to its calm conditions making it suitable even for beginners. The surrounding bay area also provides opportunities for fishing from boats.
Located on Long Island's North Fork, the park offers saltwater fishing. Species include striped bass and bluefish among others.
Fishing is available from both shorelines or by boat with a permit.
The area also supports fluke, porgy, black sea bass and weakfish populations for anglers to catch.
Remember that all fishermen aged 16+ need a New York State Fishing License except during designated free fishing days.

While biking is allowed, it's important to note that there are no designated bike trails. Be cautious of pedestrians.
The park features a 3-mile long paved road ideal for leisurely rides but be mindful of vehicle traffic.
Bicyclists should adhere strictly to the rules and regulations set by the authorities in order not to disrupt wildlife habitats.
Remember, helmets are mandatory for riders under 14 years old as per New York State law; safety first!
Rentals may not always be available so bringing your own bicycle could prove beneficial.
Ensure you stay within operating hours - dawn until dusk - when planning your bicycling adventure.
Located in eastern Long Island, the park is a popular spot for birdwatching. It's home to various species including ospreys and herons. The area also attracts migratory birds during different seasons of the year. Birders can explore diverse habitats such as marshes, forests and open water areas within its 363 acres.
