4. A kiddie pool provides safe fun for the youngest guests.
5. The park also features 650 feet of saltwater beachfront on Long Island Sound.
6. Swimming in the sound is permitted when lifeguards are present.
7. Lifeguard hours typically run from late June through Labor Day.

Boating
The park, located on Long Island's north shore, offers a variety of boating options. Kayaking and canoeing are popular activities due to the calm waters provided by the Sound. There is also a boat launch available for those who wish to bring their own watercrafts but note that motorized boats aren't allowed in certain areas because it's primarily used for swimming during summer months.
Fishing
You can enjoy saltwater fishing on the Long Island Sound. Species include flounder, striped bass and bluefish. Freshwater species like largemouth bass are found in freshwater bodies within the park area. Fishing is allowed year-round but regulations apply.

2. There are three pavilions available for large gatherings or parties.
3. Picnic spots offer stunning views of the Long Island Sound.
4. You can enjoy a beachside barbecue at designated locations in the park.

Bicycling
Biking is permitted on designated paths only, ensuring safety for all park visitors. Be aware of pedestrians and wildlife.

The 3-mile bike path offers a scenic route along the shoreline but can be challenging due to hilly terrain.

Mountain biking isn't allowed; stick to paved trails. Helmets are mandatory under state law for cyclists aged 14 or younger.

Riding after dark is prohibited as there's limited lighting in certain areas which could lead to accidents.

Remember that this location experiences seasonal weather changes - icy conditions may make cycling hazardous during winter months.
Birding
Birding enthusiasts can enjoy spotting a variety of species, including warblers and waterfowl. The park's diverse habitats attract many migratory birds during spring and fall seasons. Birders may also spot raptors such as hawks or owls in the wooded areas. Winter brings an influx of ducks to the tidal flats while summer sees nesting ospreys near salt marshes.
