Cedar Point State Park, one of the oldest state parks in New York, is a popular spot, offering excellent camping, fishing, boating and swimming. The beach is sheltered and sandy, there are docks for boats, a fishing pier and picnic grounds. From the overlook area, visitors can watch ocean-going freighters pass by.

Swimming
1. Cedar Point State Park offers a designated swimming area on the St. Lawrence River.
2. Lifeguards are typically present during summer months for safety.
3. Swimming is only allowed when lifeguards are on duty, usually from late June through Labor Day.
4. The park provides changing rooms and restrooms near the beach for swimmers' convenience.
5. The sandy beach makes it an ideal spot for sunbathing before or after swimming sessions.
6. Picnic tables by the water offer spots to relax post-swim with snacks or meals brought along.

Boating
The park offers a variety of boating options for visitors. There is a boat launch available, allowing guests to bring and use their own watercrafts. Additionally, the park rents out rowboats and paddle boats on an hourly basis or daily rate during summer months when conditions allow it. The waters around are popular among anglers as well with several species of fish present in abundance.
Fishing
Anglers can enjoy shoreline or boat fishing, targeting species like smallmouth bass, northern pike and yellow perch. Ice fishing is available in winter months for walleye and panfish. Boat rentals are offered on site to enhance your angling experience.



Picnicking
Cedar Point State Park offers numerous picnic areas with tables and grills. Some spots offer stunning views of Lake Ontario.
