ECHO VALLEY STATE PARK
Echo Valley State Park, located in northeastern Iowa near West Union, spans approximately 60 acres of picturesque wooded hills and valleys. Established in the mid-20th century, this state park offers a tranquil retreat for nature lovers.

The main feature of Echo Valley is its scenic beauty accentuated by the meandering Turkey River which flows through it. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails that wind through diverse habitats including prairies and forests teeming with wildlife. The park also boasts picnic areas and campgrounds for those looking to extend their stay amidst nature's serenity.

Opened to the public on May 28, 1951, Echo Valley continues to be a popular destination for outdoor recreation such as fishing due to its stocked trout stream. Its relatively small size provides an intimate experience with Iowa's natural landscapes while still offering ample amenities like playgrounds making it family-friendly.
Fishing
Visitors can enjoy fishing in a well-stocked lake, home to species like Bluegill and Largemouth Bass. The park also offers trout fishing opportunities in the cool waters of Patterson Creek. Anglers may find Brown Trout here as well. Fishing gear is not provided so remember to bring your own equipment.
