I went to the meeting to save the restrooms. The state highway department had already made up their minds. They closed the restrooms since they were pit toilets and were being used for immoral purposes. The highway department maintained the restrooms and said people did not use them much anymore but went to businesses. I argued that some people traveling still used them to no avail

Remembering back as a kid i had found memories of this place. Recently visited and it was sad to see that it has been neglected. Please tell me why?? Have held Cummings family reunions here for well over 50 years and just found out this year that the restrooms have been taken out, but the shelter houses are still there? I would like to know why there are no longer any restrooms and how could you spend a few hours there with your family without any place to pee?
