Susan Creek State Park is a beautiful natural area known for its lush greenery and serene ambiance. The park features the Susan Creek Day Use Area with amenities like picnic tables, restrooms and an amphitheater that hosts interpretive programs during summer months. It also offers access to several hiking trails including the renowned 0.8-mile accessible trail leading to Susan Creek Falls - a picturesque waterfall cascading down moss-covered rocks into clear pools below. Visitors can enjoy bird watching or fishing along North Umpqua River which flows through this park while being surrounded by towering Douglas fir trees creating a tranquil environment perfect for relaxation or outdoor activities.

Camping
1. Susan Creek Campground: This campground has 29 campsites, all equipped with picnic tables and fire pits/grills. The sites can accommodate tents, trailers or RVs.

2. BLM's Cavitt Creek Falls Recreation Site: Just about five miles from the park is this site which provides campgrounds that include amenities like drinking water, flush toilets and hot showers.

3. Boulder Flat Campground: Located on the banks of North Umpqua River near Susan creek state park offering fishing opportunities along with camping facilities

4. Slide Creek Campground: Another nearby option located just off Highway 138 East providing access to hiking trails as well as river activities such as swimming & rafting

5. Horseshoe Bend Campground: A bit further away but still within easy reach it's situated right next to North Umpqua Wild And Scenic River making it perfect spot for those who enjoy being close to water bodies .

6. Poole creek campground: It's another great choice if you don't mind driving little extra .It features large ,secluded spots surrounded by lush greenery.

Susan Creek State Park offers picnic tables, grills and restrooms. It's perfect for family outings with its beautiful natural surroundings.
Trails
1. Susan Creek Nature Trail: This is a 0.8-mile loop trail that offers an easy hike through lush greenery, with interpretive signs along the way explaining local flora and fauna.

2. Indian Mounds Interpretative Loop: A short but educational 0.5 mile round trip trail showcasing ancient Native American mounds used for spiritual ceremonies.

3. Tioga Bridge Access Trail: An approximately one-mile long path leading to the beautiful Tioga footbridge over North Umpqua River; ideal for bird watching and photography enthusiasts.

4. The Fall Creek Falls Hiking Trails: These trails are about two miles in length each, taking hikers up close to stunning waterfalls amidst dense forest settings.

5. Susan Creek Day Use Area Trails: Several shorter paths around this area provide access to picnic spots by the river as well as fishing areas.

6. North Umpqua Hot Springs Trailhead: Located near Susan creek campground, it's a moderate level hiking route of roughly three miles which leads you towards natural hot springs nestled within scenic surroundings.

7. River Bench Camping Site Pathway: It's not exactly a traditional hiking trail but provides pleasant walks alongside picturesque views of North Umpqua River from various angles.

8. Steamboat Ball Field Walkways: Another non-traditional option offering leisurely strolls across open fields adjacent to Steamboat Inn located nearby.

9. Colliding Rivers Viewpoint Paths: Short walking routes providing spectacular sights where Little River collides into North Umqpua creating unique hydraulic phenomena.

Directions
Susan Creek State Park is located in Douglas County, Oregon. To reach the park from Interstate 5, take exit 125 for Roseburg and head east on Garden Valley Boulevard. Continue straight onto Diamond Lake Boulevard until you reach a roundabout.

At the roundabout, take the second exit to stay on Diamond Lake Boulevard (Highway 138 East). Follow this road for approximately 20 miles until you see signs indicating Susan Creek Falls Recreation Area/Susan Creek Campground. Turn left at these signs onto Road #38-2E-33.

Continue driving along Road #38-2E-33 for about half a mile before reaching an intersection with another sign pointing towards Susan Creek Day Use Area/Picnic Site/Campground Entrance/Trailhead Parking Lot. Take a right turn here and follow the road into Susan Creek State Park.

Once inside the park, there are various amenities available such as picnic areas, hiking trails leading to beautiful waterfalls like Susan Creek Falls or Hemlock Falls, camping sites if you wish to spend more time exploring nature's wonders around this area of Oregon!

To leave Susan Creeks State Park and return back using Highway 138 West/Diamond Lake Blvd., simply retrace your steps by following Road #38-2E-33 out of the campground/picnic site area until it intersects with Highway 138 again near Glide town center.
