Welcome to Jordanelle State Park. Located above the beautiful Heber Valley in Wasatch County and along the shores of the Jordanelle Reservoir are three distinct recreation areas, Hailstone, Rock Cliff, and Ross Creek, which offer a variety of recreational opportunities. Whether you plan on spending a day, weekend, or more, Jordanelle offers some of the best picnicking, camping, boating, fishing, or hiking that you will find in the great state of Utah. Jordanelle Reservoir is filled by the Provo River and along with Deer Creek Reservoir helps provide culinary water to users in Wasatch, Utah, and Salt Lake Counties. Jordanelle State Park is just minutes away from some of the best attractions and sites that Utah has to offer. Whether you want to ski, shop, take in a movie during the world-famous Sundance Film Festival, or visit some of the historic venues of the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics this is the place for you We are located only a few miles from Park City. Looking to take a scenic drive or maybe some snowmobiling The Mirror Lake Highway is also just a short drive away.
Nature of the Area
Hailstone Recreation Area
The Hailstone Recreation Area is the premier development of Jordanelle State Park and is designed to accommodate active recreational pursuits. Camp, fish, wakeboard, waterski, canoe, or motorboat along the beautiful waters of Jordanelle Reservoir. Accommodations at Hailstone include an 8-lane boat ramp, personal watercraft ramp, dry storage, wet slips, full-service marina store, and pro shop, picnic areas cabanas, modern restrooms and showers, RV and tent campgrounds, reception center, group day-use pavilions, and one group overnight pavilion.

Rock Cliff Recreation Area
Explore the Rock Cliff Recreation Area located on the eastern shore of Jordanelle Reservoir. Nestled in the tall cottonwoods of the Upper Provo River, Rock Cliff offers visitors the opportunity to experience nature on a very intimate level. Elevated boardwalks and interpretive trails guide visitors across wetlands and rivers. Accommodations at Rock Cliff include a small boat ramp, access to the non-motorized Perimeter Trail, Three Rocks Trail, group use pavilion, fish cleaning station, river, and reservoir access, and a Nature Center re-opening SPring 2022.

Bird watchers, photographers, and other nature enthusiasts come from around the nation to view the more than 200 different forms of bird and mammal life, which call Rock Cliff home.

On any given day, visitors to this one-of-a-kind state park facility may see majestic golden eagles, red tail hawks, hummingbirds, mule deer, elk, or moose along the Upper Provo River within Rock Cliff. In the evenings, fall asleep listening to the sounds of rushing water, playful raccoons, or the hooting of a great horned owl.

Ross Creek Recreation Area
On the far north end of the park is the Ross Creek Recreation Area. The Ross Creek Trailhead provides parking, a vault restroom, hitching posts, and non-motorized day-use access to Jordanelle Reservoir and the Perimeter Trail. The Perimeter Trail allows hikers, mountain bikers, equestrians, and other non-motorized users the opportunity to explore the other side of Jordanelle. The Ross Creek Non-Motorized Boat Ramp provides non-motorized users an exclusive launch free from the bustle of motorized vessels and traffic.
Cabins
Cabins Jordanelle now offers five cabins to choose from Mahogany Ridge sleeps 8, Sage Hen Hollow sleeps 8, Elkhorn sleeps 6, Deer Ridge sleeps 6, and Kokanee Run sleeps 6. Deer Ridge and Kokanee are ADA Accessible. Each cabin is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, air conditioning/heating unit, along with a table and chairs. No Smoking allowed. Three of our cabins now allow dogs for a non-refundable fee of $20 per pet per stay. A maximum of two pets are allowed per site.
Cottages
Cottage Coming soon in 2022, Jordanelle is adding the Blue Goose Inn Cottage for rent. The cottage offers 1 queen bed, one sofa-sleeper, and a loft that sleeps 2 children. The cottage has a full bathroom with shower, a kitchenette and dining area for your stay.
Camping
RV Campground Hailstone offers 103 RV campsites equipped with partial hookups power water, fire pits with BBQ grills, and picnic tables.

Tent Campground McHenry campground is made up of four loops designed specifically for tents. Bathrooms with showers are available along with water spigots placed within each loop. A playground is located in the McHenry D loop near the restroom. RVs and Trailers are NOT allowed in any of the McHenry Loops and will be asked to leave.

Hike-in Campground Keetley campground is a hike-in campground for tent campers who want more of a secluded experience away from other campers. Some are available for reservation, but most are walk-in only available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Showers are available in the main campground at Murdock Camp Services.

Group Camping Keetley Group Campsite can accommodate up to 50 people. There are four tent pads on the north side of the pavilion 46x10, 25x9, 18x8, and 24x8. There is a large pavilion with nine picnic tables, a parking lot, four RV hookup sites water power, a nearby dumpster, a dumpsite, and two restrooms with showers. A $100 refundable cleaning/damage deposit is required upon check-in.

Swimming
1. Jordanelle State Park offers three distinct areas for swimming: Hailstone, Rock Cliff and Ross Creek.
2. The main area is the Hailstone Recreation Area which has a large sandy beach perfect for families.
3. Swimming at Rock Cliff involves more rocky terrain but provides beautiful views of nature's scenery.
4. At Ross Creek, visitors can swim in quieter surroundings away from larger crowds found elsewhere within the park.
5. Lifeguards are not on duty so swimmers should exercise caution when entering water bodies throughout the park.
6. The waters remain cool even during summer months making it an ideal location to beat Utah's heat.
7. Swimming aids like floaties or life jackets are recommended especially if you're with children or non-swimmers.

Fishing
Enjoy fishing in a beautiful reservoir setting, home to rainbow trout, smallmouth bass and perch. Boat rentals are available.

The park offers ice-fishing during winter months for adventurous anglers seeking rainbow trout or perch.

Fishing from the shoreline is also an option with several accessible spots around the reservoir's perimeter.

Fly fisherman can enjoy casting their lines into Provo River which flows nearby teeming with brown and cutthroat trouts.

Picnicking
Jordanelle State Park offers numerous picnic areas with tables and grills. Some spots offer stunning views of the reservoir.
Bicycling
In Utah, a state park offers several bicycling options. Be aware of the challenging terrain and changing weather conditions.

Mountain biking trails are available for different skill levels. Always wear protective gear when riding these paths.

The Perimeter Trail is an 8-mile loop around the reservoir with moderate difficulty level but requires caution due to steep sections.

For beginners or families, consider Hailstone Loop - it's paved and relatively flat making it safer for less experienced riders.

There are also bike rentals on-site if you don't have your own equipment. However, availability can vary so plan ahead accordingly.

Remember that wildlife may be present along any trail; always maintain safe distances from animals encountered during rides.

Lastly, respect all posted signs regarding closures or restricted areas while enjoying your ride in this beautiful location!
