Devils Elbow State Park 'Rise above' © Damon Edwards
At dawn, the massive rocks nested below the 1000 high cliffs of Heceta Head give rise out of the Pacific Ocean. Located in a cove at Devils Elbow State Park near Florence, OR the rocks are home to the Common Guillemot, as they provide a safe nesting location.

Each year my wife and I would stay overnight in the campground and celebrate our anniversary (Aug. 27th 1983) and grill New York strip steaks. Float wine in a submerged cooler in the creek. Night hikes along the nature trail. Wonderful spot.
