Located in the City of Westfield, Hampton Pond State Park offers water based recreation activities and picnicking.
Swimming
Hampton Ponds State Park offers two public beaches for swimming.

Swimming is permitted from late June to early September.

Lifeguards are on duty during this period.

The park provides changing rooms and restrooms near the beach area.

Picnic tables, grills, and playgrounds make it a family-friendly location.

Fishing opportunities exist alongside swimming options at Hampton Ponds.

Boating facilities are also available but separate from designated swim areas.
Boating
The park offers a variety of boating options for visitors. It is known for its two public boat ramps where individuals can launch their own watercrafts, including motorized boats up to 10 horsepower. Canoeing and kayaking are also popular activities in the area due to calm waters provided by the ponds within the park. Additionally, paddleboarding has become an increasingly common sight on these bodies of water as well.
Fishing
Enjoy fishing in two freshwater ponds teeming with species like largemouth bass, northern pike and various types of panfish.

Boat rentals are available for those who prefer deep water angling.

Ice fishing is an option during winter months when conditions allow it.

Remember to follow state regulations regarding catch limits and seasons.



Picnicking
Hampton Ponds State Park offers picnic tables and grills, perfect for a family outing. No alcohol is allowed in the park.
Birding
The park offers a variety of birding opportunities with diverse species inhabiting its wetland and woodland areas. Birdwatchers can spot migratory waterfowl, songbirds, raptors, and more in different seasons. The area's ponds attract numerous aquatic birds too.

park review stars; one to five It IS nice to go out on boat and go fishing, but State could literally care less about the road around it. Old Apremont way WILL destroy your suspension

park review stars; one to five Kids came up to visit from CT and we went to nearby State park and were not allowed access!!!!!! They claim the park was too full..... Not even remotely amusing!!!! Baby sweltering in car, and they turn everyone away.....

From east or west: take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Rte. I-90) to exit 3, Rte. 10/202 north, at traffic light follow Rte. 202. Park 2 miles on the left.
