Oquaga Creek State Park is just three hours from New York City and New Jersey, which makes its forested campsites the perfect summer escape. The park offers a 55-acre Arctic Lake where anglers can fish for black bass, bullheads and rainbow trout. The rolling, wooded hills are ideal for winter sledding. Winter visitors can also ice fish on the frozen lake and snowshoers and cross-country skiers can explore ten miles of trails. If you like to camp, 90 non-electric sites are available. If you don't want to bother to pack a tent and equipment, you may be interested in the Full Service Accommodation. This cottage provides 2 bedrooms, a kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, cooking utensils dishes and silverware and more.

The two-story cottage offers a kitchen, living room with fire wood stove, one and a half baths, master bedroom with a Queen bed, second upstairs bedroom with three double beds, gas and electric heat, stove with oven, refrigerator, furniture, cooking utensils, dishes, glassware, and silverware. Linens are not supplied. For outdoor meals and campfires, a picnic table and gas grill are provided.

Oquaga Creek offers rustic cabins. These cabins are the perfect in-between for campers who like tents and cabins. Offering protection from the elements, they sleep six, but have no electricity or water. Unfortunately, our cabins and full service cottage are not available on a walk in basis when the office is closed. Please CALL AHEAD to confirm office hours, as well as availability of our cabins, or our full service cottage. Two-night minimum stay required for reservations. Reservation and out-of-state resident fees also apply.
Swimming
1. Oquaga Creek State Park offers a sandy beach for swimming.
2. Lifeguards are on duty at designated times during the summer season.
3. The park's lake is also suitable for swimmers of all levels.
4. Swimming lessons and water safety programs are available to visitors in the summertime.
5. There's no additional fee required beyond entry into the state park itself to swim here.
6. The swimming area has facilities like changing rooms, showers, restrooms nearby making it convenient for families with kids.
Boating
The park offers a variety of boating options for visitors. Rowboats, paddle boats and canoes are available to rent from the park's boat house during summer months. For those who prefer bringing their own equipment, there is also an area designated for private launches. However, only non-motorized vessels or electric motors are allowed on the lake in order to maintain its serene environment.
Fishing
You can enjoy fishing in a 55-acre spring-fed lake, home to various species like largemouth bass and rainbow trout. Other fish include brown bullhead catfish and pumpkinseed sunfish. Ice fishing is also available during winter months for an adventurous experience.

Oquaga Creek State Park offers picnic tables and pavilions, grills for BBQs, a sandy beach area, and beautiful lake views.
Bicycling
Cycling enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of trails, suitable for different skill levels. However, caution is advised due to uneven terrain and potential wildlife encounters.

The park offers both paved roads ideal for leisurely rides as well as challenging off-road paths. Always wear helmets and follow trail signs to ensure safety.

Mountain bikers should be particularly careful on the rugged forested tracks that may have hidden obstacles or sudden drops.

Remember: cycling after dark isn't recommended because visibility reduces significantly which increases risk of accidents.

For families with young children, stick to designated bike lanes where traffic is minimal and speeds are slower.

Lastly, always respect nature by staying within marked areas; straying could lead to damage in delicate ecosystems.
