Saratoga Spa State Park, distinguished by its classical architecture and listed as a National Historic Landmark, is noted for its diverse cultural, aesthetic and recreational resources. In addition to the nationally-known Saratoga Performing Arts Center, the Spa Little Theater, the National Museum of Dance, the Saratoga Automobile Museum, the Gideon Putnam Resort and Spa and the Lincoln mineral baths, the park offers a multitude of traditional recreation opportunities.
1. Saratoga Spa State Park offers two swimming pools: Peerless Pool Complex and Victoria Pool.
2. The larger Peerless pool includes a main swim area, kiddie section, and water slides.
3. Victoria Pool is an elegant historic site with shallow lounging areas for relaxation or sunbathing.
4. Both pools are lifeguard-supervised ensuring safety during your visit to the park's aquatic facilities.
5. Swimming season typically runs from late June through Labor Day weekend in September each year.
6. The opening hours vary; check online before planning your day out at these state-run public pools.
Enjoy fishing in two creeks, Geyser and Kayaderosseras. Catch brook trout, brown trout or rainbow trout during the season.

Saratoga Spa State Park offers numerous picnic areas with tables, grills and pavilions available for rent. Alcohol is permitted.
Cycling enthusiasts can explore over 12 miles of scenic trails. Be aware, some paths may be challenging for beginners.
The park's terrain varies from flat to hilly areas. Ensure your bike is suitable and you're physically prepared.
Bike rentals are available on-site if needed but availability isn't guaranteed so consider bringing your own equipment.
Remember that helmets are mandatory in New York State for riders under the age of 14 years old.
Be cautious when cycling near pedestrians or slower-moving traffic within the park grounds; always maintain a safe speed.
During winter months, biking might not be possible due to snowfall and icy conditions - check weather updates beforehand.
Please note: The use of electric bikes (e-bikes) is currently prohibited throughout all state parks in New York.
Lastly, respect nature by staying on designated paths only - this helps protect local wildlife habitats as well as other visitors' experiences.
The park offers diverse birding opportunities with over 100 species, including warblers and woodpeckers. Birdwatchers can explore various habitats such as wetlands, forests and grassy fields. The area is also part of the Audubon Society's Important Bird Area program due to its significant breeding population of Eastern Bluebirds.
The Peerless Pool Complex consists of a main pool with a zero-depth entry, separate slide pool with a 19' double slide and a children's wading pool with a mushroom fountain. The Victoria Pool is a smaller pool surrounded by arched promenades. Both pool areas include showers, locker rooms and restrooms.
The park has two beautiful golf courses; a championship 18-hole course and a challenging 9-hole course, complete with pro shop and restaurant. The gentle terrain offers picnic areas, shady streamside trails, suitable for the nature-lover or the casual walker, as well as certified running courses used by joggers and high school and college athletes. Winter activities include cross-country skiing on approximately 12 miles of trails, ice skating, ice hockey and the Annual Winterfest in February.
