I discovered Tuckahoe in 1977, and it became my favorite campground for several reasons:'1) Proximity -- close, but far enough away;
2) Rural -- in the country, but central to many, many places;
3) Large, well-tended sites spaced far apart;
4) In the middle of great placces to visit.
With few exceptions, the staff has been courteous and professional, and they run the park well.
There are two camping loops: Electric, and Non-electric, and I have camped in both. With very few exceptions, all the sites are good (#9 in the non-electric loop is the worst site in the park; very uneven.)
HOWEVER, Tuckahoe becomes one of the first MD parks to close in times of economic distress; a damned shame.
