Located in Fairfield County, Connecticut, this park was established as a state property in 1943. It spans over 40 acres of land and is known for its picturesque landscape featuring the Saugatuck River.
The area's history dates back to Native American tribes who used it for fishing and hunting before European settlers arrived. In the late 19th century, it became popular among locals due to its natural beauty.
In early years after establishment as a public space by Connecticut State Park Commission (CSPC), amenities were added including picnic tables and hiking trails. The CSPC aimed at preserving nature while providing recreational opportunities.
Over time, conservation efforts have been made to protect local flora & fauna species inhabiting within boundaries of this site.
