AMERICA'S PARKS
While the most familiar of America's parks are the State Parks and the National Parks, America's parks operate under a variety of names including; state forests, natural areas, national forests, national grasslands, landmarks, monuments, historic sites, geologic sites, recreation trails, memorial sites, preserves, wayside areas, heritage parks, resource centers, scenic rivers, agricultural areas, state forest nurserys, metro parks, fishing piers, fish hatcherys, wildlife areas, plus several other names that use slight variations or combinations of the aforementioned. We collaborate with numerous government agencies, departments and bureaus to bring all of America's park resources together in one easy to find location.

Great family fun! - We had a family weekend getaway. No TV, no electronics, etc. We played board games and went for a hike. We built a fire and roasted hot dogs & marshmallows. We had a great time!

Adventure for Dreams - I loved the opportunity and sit and watch the paragliders fly to their hearts content. It was if I was up in the sky with them. What I thought was mind blowing was an eagle joining in the flights with them. Wow. What an unexpected pleasure to see nature blend with man. Try that on a bicycle!

great park - 200+ Manatees the other day coming in to spring, wonderful and helpful rangers, beautiful boardwalk hike the entire run from the spring to the St Johns river just teeming with water critters, cruises, tubing for the grand kids, and a nice swimming area. What more could you want.

A favorite place - I marvel that we are blessed to live nearby this park. The person who said the overlooks were blocked by trees did not visit Lookout Point; a breathtaking view every time. Hiking, camping, or just a quick stop...we never tire of it. If you take children on some clifftop trail areas, be prepared to hold tight to their hands. Hesitant to post & encourage crowding the park, but that would be selfish!

AMAZING! - I absoutly loved the park. With the natural wildlife and amazingness of the surroundings. I went earlier in the year and just found this site. I see the post titled sad and it is not at all what my experience was. I will be going the every summer from now on!
5/6/2011 Boggy Depot State Park (OK) by Shirley(Riley) Creacy
A good place for family reunions! - The Riley Reunion has been held at the park for years. The facilities are very accommodating for games and pot luck meals. The personell have been very nice and helpful. We have heard that the park will be closing. What a shame.

Wonderful Place to Kick Back and Chill - We camp here every sprin, summer, and fall. It is a beautiful lake with great views. Always have felt safe there. The rates are reasonable and the enviorment is enjoyable. We tent camp and always set up at Martians Landing. Our dogs also love it there.
Childhood favorite, now my rejuvenation - To all...drove 2 hours from Jersey to spend the day only to find out park is closed til 2012....major disappointment.

Spring Mill Inn - My husband and I find peace and comfort at the Inn. My husband loves the fall and the persimmon tree at the beginning of the walk into the Pioneer Village. What a beautiful Indiana Park. We are looking forward to our stay in October this year!!
4/17/2011 Aiken State Park (SC) by M.Jones
Canoeing on Edisto River - I took my daughter for her 1st boat ride today 4/17/11. The rental price at the park was very cheap. It has been years since I went down the South Edisto and I had forgotten what a Paradise we have just out side Aiken SC. We are both looking forward to doing it again soon.

Anniversary spot--long ago - Each year my wife and I would stay overnight in the campground and celebrate our anniversary (Aug. 27th 1983) and grill New York strip steaks. Float wine in a submerged cooler in the creek. Night hikes along the nature trail. Wonderful spot.
Shut down - This park is no longer open. Sad. I live near this park. It is a nice location. It could be used for so many things.
