I drove the original Gap - I drove the original gap 25E it was a two lane road of switchbacks sheer drop offs and when you finally got to the top you looked down into TN, I hated when I found out that this daring road was no more, so many times as a child I rode it with my Father driving and then when I was 18 I drove it and many times after, you hate to see how it has changed.
- We arrived shortly before closing and we were greeted kindly by the staff. The monument is under renovation so no trip to the top. A nice small gift shop. Would like to go again and enjoy all the resources available. Worth your time to visit.
one of our favorite parks - I been goin to kincaid since i was a kid. We have our family reunion there every year. Not many of my family go anymore since both my grandparents are gone. Miss them so much but i still go to keep our tradirion going as they would want. I remember me my brother and cousuns rented a motor boat there when we was teens we had fun times. And just bein there wir all the family was the best. I wish it was still like that but they try.
the flag - I understand how a lot of the funding for the park comes from gov........ but as the people of the park that visit and contribute also to this funding ..... I vote to put the Battle Flag back in the park ....not about hate .....tis about heritage
- MESMERIZING !!!
My Daddy and I have spent so many hours there , we live in Ohio, Oak Harbor for him. Myself in Amherst.
Just listening & observing. Tremendous BEAUTY! The Ladies in the Gift Shop are the BEST! They made us feel as if we were the only one in their shop. Daddy was 82 years young, and the staff were so very patient with him. A true rarity these days with the juvenile workers! Daddy past in January un expectedly...somehow I know he is in such Beauty & loving it just the same! I will return to visit as I am certain I can feel his presence on that tranquil earth.....
Somehow no matter our road trips South, the vehicle just seemed to turn right at Exit 25.
- It would be nice to be able to view souveniers for sale at the site. It would surely attract more visitors. We were treated fairly snotty by the shop during our visit, as if we were being done a favor.
