Equestrian day use - I would love to be able to return to the lovely area around Shaw Lake for a day trip and ride the trails which I understand are in great condition due to countless volunteer hours. The day parking lot for horse trailers in this area has been closed for years and I understand it still is. Is there any place to park with a horse trailer for just day use without having to pay for Camping overnight If so, where is it I tried calling with this question, had to leave a message but never got an answer back.
Ordinance plant - My father worked at the Ordinance plant for Armour Research Company when I was growing up. He was in a terrible explosion there and nearly lost his life.

- Decent campground with all sites being electric and some full hook up. We were in a tent, and found the sites in the paw paw loop to be too close together. In addition, the shower house in the paw paw loop did not have hot water and the shower only stayed on for 5 seconds at a time. The main loop shower house was nice with hot water. We were told the campstore was open 8-4, so we tried to go at 230 on a Saturday and they were already closed. Also tried to go at 10am on Monday and 930am on Tuesday..also closed. Firewood and ice available at campground gate. Very nice trails to hike with Rose Island being a definite must see. If you closely on the trails, you can find remnants of old buildings.

Large bugs everywhere - It is August 1st, 2019. Drove 3 hours to Jackson-Washington State Forest today to camp for the night. When we got there, it was big bugs swarming everywhere we went. About an inch long with brownish yellow and white bodies. I mean they were everywhere. Got out of the truck and got pelted with them. Turned around and came back home. We have been camping before there and have never seen anything like that, but it may be the last time we go.

A definite favorite - Thomas, a security personnel visited our site on the 19th. He was a delightful DNR employee. He represented TRSP and the IN DNR in an excellent way. It is a joy to meet young people who enjoy the outdoors and communicate with campers.
6/28/2018 8:11:28 PM Greenburg Reservoir State Fishing Area by Chris f.
Sad to see its closed - Wish we could get some answers they want you to buy a fishing license with nowhere to fish this was about the only place in greensburg to fish I used to take my kids out there the indiana dnr has let things slip here in Decatur co. And the upland is only open on some saturdays.what a shame seems like my fees are being wasted.

5/12/2018 4:54:39 PM Frances Slocum State Forest by Mike Lennis
Logging - After removing the Miami Indians from this area, the government added insult by moving the remains of Frances Slocum and many Miami from the their original burial grounds so that the Mississinewa reservoir could be constructed. Now the state is considering logging the forest where the cemetery was relocated. When does it ever end?
4/23/2018 5:23:50 PM Morgan Monroe State Forest by fire
fire - This is half the story I called DNR at 11pm to report this fire. They told me sorry we have zero staff. They sent the Sherriff dept at 11:30pm they showed up went back and said yes people back there had huge fire and partying from Indianapolis. They said was NOT IN THERE ability to make them put it out because its a DNR issue. They then left.

Broun county stat park - I love it
8/8/2017 6:07:29 PM Chain O'Lakes State Park by CATHI Boyer
This is one of our favorite parks - We love coming here they trails are kept clean and clear. The only major complaint is the restroom and showers. Even after they have cleaned them they are still dirty. The walls are or would be easy to clean if they ran a large scrub brush over walls. But only use power washer on walls that are on one side. So any dirt, bugs, spiders, or other things are left. This is the worst part and I am staying during the week and it is slow.
