Our familys annual trip - Heaven on earth...a nature lovers paradise. If you want to get away from Everything and I mean everything, this is the place. All you hear is nature...what a beautiful sound. We stay in the cabins every time. They provide everything you would think to bring. Just bring your food, and personal belongings and get ready to relax. There are 3 different trails to walk, bike ride and plenty of alligators, birds, armadillos, to see. We fished, grilled out and cooked inside. The high point was early morning just sitting on the pier and glancing down the waterway and listening to the sounds. The staff are pleasant and very helpful. I would recommend staying here at least once...then you too would come back yearly.
Camping - I have RV spots and camps on Tensas River joining the TNWR for annual rent Contact TRACEY Weems 318-805-2964 tweemsbrownrealtyco.com

Best of Times - I visited the park a while back with my exfiance, he and tent camped. We enjoyed the pleasure of minute we spent there. Clean facilities, quiet, relaxing and I am planning to visit again, but I plan bring my child this time. I certainly am thankful for stumbling across the park, I had no options for a place to stay those few day. Thank you for your hospitality God you all

Unique, Fascinating & Interesting Place - Duck Hunted the lake the last week in November. While the temperature was in the seventies, with zero wind. Not conducive weather conditions for duck hunting, ergo our harvest was thin. However, the uniqueness of the place and the potential of fantastic duck hunting, will have us making the fourteen hour trip to get there again!

Worst State Park Ever - Narrow hilly roads to nowhere. Bad directions given by office. Did not want to part with a map. Primitive campers are sprinkled among RV Sites. Almost dark when I finally found my campsite. First and last visit.

Okay for one night - Swamps are impressive. Restrooms are awful, no soap and probably not cleaned since days, at least the floor in the showers.

Breton Island Was Man Made - My daddy, Kenneth J.Breaux, helped build Breton island for the oilfield industry. Kerr McGee Petroleum was the principle builder. For a few decades, it was the largest man made island in the world.

PGA Zurich Class Golf Tournament 2016 - This is a very convenient location to view, or participate in the 2016 PGA Zurich Classic Golf Tournament. A quiet, safe, comfortable park, within 2-3 miles from the TPC New Orleans.
7/18/2016 8:41:22 AM Poverty Point Reservoir State Park by Large Family
Great Family Time - We really enjoyed getting together with family all in one place. The only concern we had was the amount of towels left for us for a two-night stay in a cabin for 10 people. We had to purchase some.
